WHAT ARE JIA?

The “Jornadas de Jovens Investigadores em Arqueologia” (JIA) are an annual scientific meeting where students from this scientific area meet with the aim of sharing knowledge, establishing contact networks and discussing current issues in the field of archaeological research.

FOR WHOM?

JIA is a scientific meeting organized by and for young researchers in Archaeology. They are therefore a meeting where undergraduate, Master or Doctoral students can show their research work, regardless of the stage of work in which it is, thus having an opportunity to disseminate and discuss it with other young researcher colleagues.

WHY SHOULD YOU PARTICIPATE?

JIA, as they have a format that encourages debate in an environment of collaboration and conviviality, are an extraordinary opportunity for young researchers to gain experience in the presentation of their research work. So, if you have little or no experience of participating in scientific meetings, at JIA you will find the right environment to start.

WHEN AND WHERE?

JIA 2023 will take place in Lisbon, more specifically at the Faculdade de Letras of the University of Lisbon, between the 6th and 8th of September 2023.

JIA began in 2009 as an itinerant project, having since visited several cities, namely Madrid (2008, 2009), Barcelona (2010), Faro (2011), Santiago (2012), Barcelona (2013), Vitoria (2014), Lisbon (2015), Santander (2016), Burgos (2017), Tarragona (2018), Pontevedra (2019) and Alicante (2022).
